Terms and Conditions

1) The terms "Independent Hostel Guide", "We" & "IHG" refer to sites, domains and aspects of the business owned and controlled by Backpackers Press. The terms "You" and "user" refers to you as an individual, sole trader, representative or employee using any of the services and sites controlled by Backpackers Press.

2) You the user grant us permission to use and promote your company information, it is your responsibility to ensure that all information shown on any area of Independent Hostel Guide is accurate and up to date.

3) We have no objections to any web site containing a link to any of the IHG web sites. We list web site links in the business contact details in the Independent Hostel Guide as part of the subscription agreement, these sites are checked periodically to ensure that they are linking to the correct site and that the site contains no objectionable material. Backpackers Press, reserves the right to refuse web site listings if the content is of an objectionable nature. If your web site listing is refused or removed, you will be sent an email explaining why.

4) Changes to your details are unlimited for essential contact information includes Address, Post Code, Phone & Fax numbers and Contact Name(s) etc, fair use applies to non-contact detail related content.

5) You fully understand that all information, data, text, software, music, sound, graphics, video, messages, photographs, or any other materials that are found within the sites listed in our directory are the sole responsibility of that website owner. Backpackers Press, will, if a website owner changes the content of the site or the material of the site to NON family safe site, remove the web site link without notice. In these circumstances, no refund will be made.

NON family safe sites include sites which:
Promote racial, ethnic or religious hatred
Promote or contain links to sites which have pornographic material
Promote or encourage acts of terrorism
Promote or contain elements which infringe on the privacy of others

6) You agree that we may preserve content and may also disclose content if required to do so by law if necessary to:

(a) Comply with legal process,
(b) Enforce our policies and terms,
(c) Any copyright disputes,
(d) protect the right for us, you our users and the public as a whole.

7) You agree to hold us, or any of our contacts, users, sponsors, affiliates or anyone at all connected with one of our domains harmless from any claims or demands. This includes all fees made by any other parties due to or arising from any content you post and submit. No site, advertiser or business is endorsed by Backpackers Press at any time.

8) You agree that the data processing for a directory needs to be used over various networks as we have more than one domain.

9) We reserve the right to modify, discontinue (temporarily or permanently) any of our services or part thereof with or without notice should we be forced to do so for the company's future or benefit to you our users. You agree that we are not liable to you or any third party for any of the above. However we will do all that we can to keep our services open but there are certain circumstances beyond our control like "Acts of God" i.e.- Earthquakes, thunderstorms, solar flares and electro-magnetic pulses that could kill our servers.

10) All dealings that you have with any of the advertisers/sites within our site are totally your responsibility, You agree that we will not be held liable should any disputes that arise with one of our advertisers or links.

11) You agree that your use of our service is on an "as is" and "as available" basis, we expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind. By submitting your company details via post, fax or our online form you agree to these terms of service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms Of Service at any time. However, we will post any changes within a prominent location on our sites should they affect you or our service dramatically.
